Blake Godkin
Blake Godkin is a Senior Strategist/Futurist with Cambridge Strategics, a leading education consulting and strategic planning firm.
As a futurist, professional facilitator and creativity expert Blake works closely with education institutions to create and manage new ideas in order to bring about future-focused organizational transformation. He primarily serves small and large community school districts from all over the United States as well as institutions of higher learning. Before moving into consulting, Blake was a lead education planner for one of the world’s largest education facilities design firms—facilitating projects totaling approximately 200 million dollars. His work ranged from planning large high schools in North Texas to the development of the Educational Technology Design Standards for all 400 schools in United Arab Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Prior to his work in the private sector, Blake served in many areas of academia including holding a faculty position with the Department of Architecture at Texas A&M University, teaching a course in design process, creativity, invention, and futures studies. While at Texas A&M, Blake was also responsible for shepherding the development of the University’s first “Create Your Own Degree Program” allowing students to focus in fields of study that have yet to be explored. Blake’s ongoing research focuses on the future of education, tools for enhancing creative thinking, and developing urban planning methodologies focused on learning.
