School (Site) Planning in a Strategic Context...
This program will enable you to understand the linkage of school plans to the district plan; recognize the uniqueness of the site and its special place within the system; develop implementable site plans; learn how site planning will allow you to comply with state mandates for school improvement plans; and learn how site planning can be integrated with regional accreditation. (2.5 Days)
This training program is intended for school principals, teachers, school planning facilitators, and central office staff. The purpose is to create within the school district the internal capacity to facilitate the development of school (site) plans within the context of the district’s strategic plan.
This course includes discussion and practical exercises designed to create understanding of:
- the relationship of the building plan to the strategic plan
- the discipline of a building plan
- the planning process
- the role of the facilitator
- the development of implementable tactical plans
- the accommodation of state mandates and accreditation requirements
- the actualization of the uniqueness of each school
- optimal community involvement
Special Features:
- This 3-day program carries 1 graduate credit hours through the San Diego State University.
- The process taught in this course meets the requirements of accreditation agencies.
- It will exceed mandated state standards.
Availability:
- This program is best delivered locally, but is also offered in national locations four times each year. It is an excellent in-service program.
